Below are just some of the many University resources and RSOs/student groups that students interested in sexual misconduct prevention can get involved in:
Phoenix Survivor Alliance (PSA)
PSA is a peer-led organization of student survivors and allies who work, research, and collaborate to provide information, advocacy, and peer support to survivors of sexual violence at UChicago.
The UChicago Clothesline Project
The Clothesline Project at UChicago is part of a larger national project that aims to help survivors share their experiences anonymously, displaying their stories on shirts to foster visibility and awareness in the UChicago community. Survivors may submit a story for an artist to depict or they may create the shirt themselves.
Tea Time and Sex Chats
Tea Time and Sex Chats hosts a series of guided discussions per year, covering a variety of topics including consent, communication during sex, safe sex, and sex positivity.
Peer Health Exchange at UChicago
Peer Health Exchange gives teenagers the knowledge and skills they need to make healthy decisions. We do this by training college student volunteers to teach a comprehensive, fact-based health education curriculum in Chicago Public Schools
We are an academic discussion group that holds workshops and speaker events dealing with various issues of gender, sexuality, and feminism.
Queers & Associates (Q&A)
Queers & Associates is a group for LGBTQ students and allies, dedicated to creating a welcoming queer community through activism, events, social activities, and discussion of issues relevant to queer life. The purpose of this organization shall be: to support the campus Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Questioning, and Intersex (LGBTQI) community through activism, events, and social activities; to incorporate allies to the LGBTQI community and solicit support from new allies; to advocate for and support the larger LGBTQI community in the Chicagoland area, nationally, and around the world; to create connections with other Chicagoland college and university LGBTQI groups.
Sex Week at UChicago
Sex Week aims to create an open, safe, and supportive space to discuss sex, a subject that has some importance to all of us, which can be source of excitement, passion, opinion, discomfort, shyness, or pain.
Student Government (SG)
Student Government is about connecting students with each other, the administration, and resources that exist on campus to further dialogue, knowledge, and increase the well-being of students. In 2014, SG set-up an annual Sexual Assault Awareness Fund.
